미지센터의 청소년 국제교류이야기

세상을 이해하고 움직이는 아홉 가지 주인공

- 전국 청소년 함께 하는 3박 4일 기획캠프 -

- 청소년 스스로 만들어보는 국제교류 고민 -

해외에 나가야만 국제교류 프로그램인가? 외국어를 못해도 국제교류 프로그램에 참가할 수 있을까? 청소년이 직접 기획자가 되어 국제교류 프로그램을 만들어 본다면 어떨까?

이런 물음에서 시작된 국제교류기획캠프가 올해로 3회를 맞이한다. ‘세상을 이해하고 움직이는 아홉 가지 주인공’을 주제로 하는 이번 제3회 국제교류기획캠프는 2012년 2월1일(수)부터 4일(토)까지 3박4일 일정으로 서울시립청소년문화교류센터 ‘미지’(소장: 최형근, 이하 미지센터)에서 열린다.

이번 캠프에서는 청소년 참가자들 스스로 기획자가 되어 △물(Water) △병(Disease) △돈(Money) △펜(Pen) △눈(Eyes) △색(Color) △집(Home) △춤(Dance) △틈(Crack)의 총 9개 팀별 주제에 부합하는 국제교류프로그램 기획안을 만들어 보는 시간을 가질 예정. 참가자들은 청소년운영위원회가 선정한 9개 주제를 바탕으로 각 팀이 기획한 청소년 국제교류 프로그램 기획안을 발표하며, 우수작에게 유네스코한국위원회 사무총장상, 서울시립청소년문화교류센터장상이 수여된다.

한편 본행사에 앞서 지난 1월 15일에 열린 참가자 오리엔테이션에서는 김민재(대학생국제외교학회 이사장) 씨가 ‘꿈과 열정을 세계에 공개하라’ 라는 주제로 본인의 경험담을 통해 청소년의 미래에 대해 계획을 세우고 열정적으로 사는 것에 대해, 윤지혜(전 미지센터 교육문화사업팀 팀장) 씨가 ‘청소년 국제교류 프로그램 개념 및 기획, 운영’을 주제로 청소년 국제교류 프로그램 기획자로서 필요한 자세 및 기본개념에 대해 각각 강연을 하였다. 전국에서 선발된 62명의 청소년과 13명의 미지센터 청소년 운영위원회는 첫 만남이라는 것이 무색할 만큼 적극적인 참여와 열띤 토론을 통해 국제교류기획캠프를 준비하였다.

국제교류 프로그램 참가 경험이 없는 청소년을 대상으로 청소년 국제교류 프로그램에 대한 선입견을 없애고 청소년의 요구가 잘 반영된, 청소년 주도적인 국제교류 프로그램을 만들고자 기획된 이 프로그램은 서울시립 기관인 미지센터가 유일하게 전국 청소년을 대상으로 모집하는 캠프로 청소년의 자발성 증진, 팀워크와 국제교류에 대한 이해 증진을 목표로 하고 있다.

Attractive mixture of Sahara and Mediterranean

- The Seoul Youth Center for Cultural Exchange (MIZY Center) hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government will have the 'month of Morocco' in December with the cooperation of the Embassy of Morocco from Dec. 2 to the 16th

- With the topic of Moroccan food, traditional costumes, and world heritage.

Located at the western edge of North Africa where both African and Islamic culture are co-existed, Morocco is known as “Africa’s small Arab.” As the last event of 'Mizy - Embassy Program' in 2011, Morocco month would be introduced from Dec. 2nd to the 16th.

With the cooperation of the Embassy of Morocco, students get a chance to leaern about Moroccan culinary culture, traditional clothes and World heritages in Morocco. Having elementary students as participants, all the programs are going to have fun activities and Said Dahabi, the First Secretary of Morocco Embassy, will introduce Moroco culture with the help of other Moroccans currently living in South Korea.

On Dec 3, the first program will be opened on the subject of 'food'. Students are expected to learn about the culinary culture and actually make Moroccan food 'bageurireu (Baghrir)' which is to be conducted over two hours. On Wednesday Dec 7 at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00, students will investigate about traditional Moroccan-themed clothing ( appeared as boasting brilliant colors of unique patterns). After then, they get to play some of Moroccan traditional games. At the last program, which will be on 10th December, 'Fez' and 'Marrakesh (Marrakeck)' known as the most popular World Heritage sites in Morocco will be examined.

During the period of events, December 2nd to the 16th, abundant exhibition materials are being displayed starting with the tradition of Moroccan salon and exhibits included with a recreational examination of the Sahara Desert. Moroccan flavors of traditional costumes and crafts will also be disclosed. This is where pretty much anyone could observe the spectacles of Moroccan culture.

미지센터, 음식문화를 주제로 ‘맛있는’ 화상회의 진행

-‘한국과 대만 청소년들의 음식문화’주제로 -

- 오는 11월 30일, 서울시청 영상회의실에서 -

서울시립청소년문화교류센터 ‘미지’ (소장: 최형근, 이하 미지센터)는 오는 11월 30일 오후 4시부터 2시간 동안 서울시청 영상회의실에서 ‘한국과 대만 청소년들의 음식문화’라는 주제로 ‘제25회 국제화상회의’를 진행할 예정이다.

한국과 대만, 두 나라의 문화에 대해 이야기할 때 빠지지 않고 등장할 만큼 중요한 것은 바로 음식문화. 미지센터는 지난 5월에 ‘청소년과 미디어’라는 주제로 대만과 국제화상회의를 진행했던 경험을 바탕으로 이번에는 대만의 국립달리고등학교(National Dali High School)와 협력하여 ‘맛있는’ 국제교류를 시도한다.

서울특별시가 주최하고 미지센터가 주관하는 국제화상회의는 인터넷과 영상장비를 이용해 외국 청소년들과 시, 공간의 제약을 넘어 서로의 문화와 생각을 나누고 토론하는 ‘저비용 고효율’ 국제교류 프로그램으로 청소년들의 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 이번 화상회의는 필리핀, 쿠웨이트, 대만, 호주, 인도에 이어 여섯 번째로 진행되는 것으로, 올해의 마지막 화상회의이다.

국제화상회의에 참가하는 청소년들은 각기 다른 학교 출신으로, 이번 화상회의의 주인공이 되고자 지원한 중·고등학생들이다. 이들은 각자 국제화상회의와 대만 청소년과의 문화교류에 대한 관심을 보여주는 참가지원서를 작성, 서류전형 합격 후 면접을 거쳐 선발되었다.

국제화상회의를 진행하기에 앞서 참가자들은 10차례의 사전모임을 준비, 화상회의를 위한 발표력을 키워왔다. 사전모임에는 상대국 대만을 알기 위한 교육도 포함되어 있는데 지난 16일에는 대만의 음식 및 문화를 이해하기 위해 여행작가 양소희 씨(‘타이베이에 반하다’ 저자)를 초청해 ‘맛있는 대만 알아가기’ 특강을 진행했다. 한국 참가자들은 또한 대만 친구들에게 한국 음식 문화를 보여주고자 직접 떡볶이를 요리하는 모습을 비디오에 담아 영상으로 제작하기도 했다.

서울시립청소년문화교류센터(미지센터, www.mizy.net)는 서울시가 설립하고 유네스코한국위원회가 운영하는 청소년 특화시설로, ‘국제화상회의’를 비롯하여 청소년을 위한 다양한 문화이해 및 국제교류 프로그램을 제공하고 있다.
